Gazan Families seeking to join our communities

Family 1

I am the mother and primary applicant for our family of six. We are currently trapped in Gaza and are registered UNRWA Palestinian refugees.

Like countless families in Gaza, we have lost our home, our livelihood, and the security every family deserves. Our children have also lost access to education and the chance to grow up in a safe and stable environment. We are simply hoping for an opportunity to rebuild our lives through a lawful, safe, and dignified pathway.

We would be deeply grateful if you would consider keeping our family's details on file as you continue preparing for the proposed scheme. If there are community groups that are interested in getting to know Palestinian families in advance, we would be honoured to introduce ourselves and share our story.

Thank you for the important work you are doing to support Palestinian families and to create safe and legal pathways for the future. We sincerely appreciate your time and consideration, and we hope to remain in contact as the programme develops.

On family members:
We are a family of six. My husband and I, along with our four children: Male (20), Female (19), Male (18), and Male (16). Three of them are preparing for or pursuing university studies, and they are all highly motivated to continue their education despite everything we have been through. Mohammed, in particular, has a real love for music, though he has never had the chance to learn or study it here.

On our qualifications and experience:
My husband holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and has 25 years of professional experience in the field. He also enjoys cooking as a hobby. I hold a Master's degree in Media Studies, with 25 years of experience in the field, particularly in media work serving the health sector.

On what we have lost because of the war:
Since the war began, our home has been completely destroyed along with everything we owned. The work that supported our family disappeared, and with it our income and sense of security. Our children lost access to their education, as schools and universities stopped functioning. We lost the safety and routine of daily life, and have lived since under constant displacement, fear, and uncertainty.

Family 2

Thank you very much for your kind and compassionate message.

I understand that the scheme has not started yet. I truly appreciate your honesty and your willingness to keep our family's information for future opportunities.

My husband is an architect with around 15 years of experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and a Diploma in Education, and I have worked as a teacher and writer.

We are a family of seven: my husband and I, and our five children. Their ages are 13 (girl), 12 (girl), 11 (boy), 9 (boy), and 6 (girl).

Our English is basic to intermediate, and we are committed to improving it and integrating into any community that may welcome us. We are ready to work hard, become independent, and contribute positively.

We have lost our home, our work, and the stability our children once had. Since the war began, our family has lived through repeated displacement, fear, and uncertainty. Our children have been deeply affected psychologically, and we hope for a chance to rebuild our lives in safety and dignity.

Thank you again for considering our family. We would be grateful if you could keep our information on file and contact us if a suitable community becomes available. I can also send photographs and any additional information you may need.

My children are very intelligent and talented. They love drawing and making handmade crafts, and despite everything they have experienced, they continue to create beautiful things that give them hope. My eldest daughter who is 13 years old, edited the video I sent you herself. She taught herself how to do it despite all the hardships we are living through. My children deserve the chance to live in safety, continue their education, and grow up with hope instead of fear.

I pray that God will bless your efforts and that you may be one of the people through whom my children find safety and the opportunity for a better future.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Family 3

COUPLE WITH OR WITHOUT PARENTS

I live with my wife and my elderly parents, and I am the sole provider for my family. Like countless other families in Gaza, we have endured immense hardship as a result of the ongoing conflict.

We have lost our home and our livelihood, and my wife and I also suffered the heartbreaking loss of our first unborn child after more than thirteen years of hope, perseverance, and medical treatment in our dream of becoming parents.

Despite these devastating circumstances, we remain determined to rebuild our lives with dignity.

We are an educated family that believes in responsibility, mutual respect, and active participation in society. I am currently employed by Solidarités International (SI), an international humanitarian organisation operating in Gaza.

This experience has strengthened my commitment to serving others and reinforced my belief in making a positive contribution to any community of which I become a part. I am also fluent in English, and I believe these qualities will enable me to integrate successfully into British society, secure employment, and contribute positively to the community that may welcome us.

My family and I are registered with UNRWA, and we understand that this registration may become an important point of reference for any future pathway established for Palestinian families from Gaza.

I would be deeply grateful for any guidance you can offer regarding the Named Community Sponsorship scheme, including how families such as mine can prepare for it, whether there are opportunities to engage with your work or participate in your online meetings, and how we can remain informed about future developments.

Thank you very much for your time, compassion, and the important work you are doing to support Palestinian families.

Family 4

Our family left Gaza legally on 3 October 2023 to travel to Egypt for our scheduled biometric appointments for Canadian visas. Only four days later, on 7 October 2023, the war began, the Rafah Crossing was closed, and we became trapped in Egypt. Since that day, we have been unable to return home.

We are a family of nine: my husband, myself, and our seven children, aged between 4 and 23 years.

One of our sons suffers from a serious medical condition that requires continuous treatment and medical follow-up. The cost of his care is becoming increasingly difficult for us to afford.

Our family has no secure legal status in Egypt, and we survive only on my husband's small Palestinian pension, which is no longer enough to cover even our most basic needs, including rent, food, healthcare, and our children's education.

Our children have suffered greatly. Several of them have had their education interrupted because of our legal and financial circumstances. We are doing everything we can to protect them and preserve their future, but every day brings more uncertainty.

Like countless Palestinian families, we have experienced devastating personal loss. My brother and my nephew were killed during the war in Gaza, and another member of my husband's family was seriously injured. The pain of these losses remains with us every day.

We have also lost our home and almost everything we owned in Gaza. Today, we have no home to return to and no possessions left with which to rebuild our lives. Everything we spent years building has been destroyed or lost because of the war.

Despite our own hardship, we have continued to support our relatives who remain in Gaza whenever we are able, even though our own circumstances are extremely difficulty

We respectfully ask whether our family could be considered for the future Named Sponsorship programme, or whether there are any steps we should begin taking now to improve our chances when the scheme opens. We would also be deeply grateful for any advice, guidance, or connection with a UK community willing to support a family in our situation.

We are not seeking irregular migration. We are simply asking for a safe, lawful, and dignified opportunity to protect our children and rebuild our lives after losing almost everything.
