How to Welcome a Family From Gaza to Your Community
Families in Gaza are looking for a safe place to rebuild their lives. A welcoming community can help make that possible. A Local Group can help a family settle into a new life and feel that they belong.

What a Local Team Can Do?
- Bring people together to form a Local Group and prepare the community to welcome a family.
- Connect with local organisations that can help, and invite them to be involved in welcoming the family.
- The new named sponsorship scheme will allow your community to name a family who would feel happy and welcome there. You can develop a friendship remotely before they arrive.
- Raise the required funds and work with a Lead Sponsor Organisation.
- Help find a suitable home and share practical tasks among the group.
- Complete training and work with support from local organisations.
- Help with everyday essentials: registration, GP, bank, Jobcentre, tenancy, internet, school and local activities.
- Help the family learn English and feel part of the community.

More Than a Home
This is not simply about providing a place to live. It is about opening a door, building a friendship, sharing a community and helping a family feel that they belong.
Could your community be that door?
